Having great photos is important as this is what will grab a buyer’s attention and help you sell faster!
-
- Show off the item – display the item on a hanger or a mannequin so that the buyer can see what the item looks like.
- Show the full view – please display a full photo of the item. Ideally this should be the first photo that is displayed.
- All angles – try to take a range of photos that show the item from all angles, the front of the item, the back of the item, the sides of the item, and top and bottom if relevant.
- Attention to detail – make sure you take photos of item details that need to be shown such as buttons, designs, brand names/labels, and textures.
- Attractive photos – try to keep the photo appealing. Try not to display a mess in the background. You could even set up a display area to take photos.
- Item colour – please make sure you take the photos in the daylight so that the true colours of the items can be shown.
- Take your own photos – make sure you own the photos that you take. Please do not use pictures that you have found online, do not use stock images or images with watermarks.
- Do not alter the shape of the item on the mannequin – Try not to make the item look a different shape to what it actually is as this misrepresents the item e.g. pinning a dress at the back. It could create an hourglass shape instead of a straight shape.
